How to use it well

Authorize only the intended store

Confirm the selected Shopify shop and requested access before connecting it to the VAT Engine account that will own the imported records.

Review imported assumptions

Use source and product-tax mapping controls to make the route from Shopify data to VAT reporting context visible and reviewable.

Expect reconciliation, not blind automation

Shopify webhooks can be delayed, duplicated, or missed; a healthy connected-source workflow includes review and reconciliation.

Preview one order before importing a store

A store operator can evaluate the connector with a representative order before relying on its imports. Availability remains subject to alpha and Shopify distribution restrictions.

  1. Open the supported Shopify installation flow and confirm the intended store and VAT Engine account before authorizing access.
  2. Use the read-only order preview to inspect source attribution and product-tax assumptions. Previewing an order does not import it.
  3. Review unresolved evidence and permissions, then use the supported import workflow. Keep monitoring reconciliation because webhook delivery alone is not a completeness guarantee.

The connector provides an evidence and review workflow. It does not establish that every Shopify order is tax-compliant or that a reporting period is ready to file.
