Overview

These terms govern access to VAT Engine, including the website, dashboard, API, and any related preview features. By using the service, you agree to these terms.

Service Scope

• VAT calculations, rates, reporting, and compliance-support workflows are provided as experimental software tools for evaluation during the alpha period.
• You remain responsible for the accuracy of the data you submit, your tax registrations, and any filings or decisions made using the platform.
• VAT Engine does not provide legal, tax, or accounting advice unless you have a separate written agreement stating otherwise.

Accounts and Security

• Provide accurate registration and billing information.
• Keep your credentials, devices, API keys, and recovery methods secure.
• Promptly notify us if you suspect unauthorized access or misuse.
• Use the service only for lawful business purposes and in line with published documentation.

We may apply reasonable security controls, request validation, rate controls, session protections, or account-verification steps to keep the service safe.

Acceptable Use

• Attempt unauthorized access to systems, data, or accounts.
• Interfere with platform security, integrity, or availability.
• Use the service to violate laws, third-party rights, or contractual restrictions.
• Abuse automated access outside the intended API or dashboard workflows.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the service in a way that exceeds applicable law or license rights.

Plans, Billing, and Changes

Current alpha access is offered without charge unless we explicitly state otherwise in writing or through a checkout flow. Free alpha access may later change to paid, limited, or invite-only access.

We may add, remove, improve, or retire features over time. When reasonable, we will provide notice for material changes that affect active customers.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance windows, upstream outages, abuse controls, or emergency security actions may affect access from time to time.

Intellectual Property

VAT Engine, its branding, software, documentation, and related materials remain the property of VAT Engine and its licensors. Except where law or written permission allows otherwise, you may not copy, resell, sublicense, or create derivative works from the service content.

Suspension and Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay required fees, create security risk, or use the platform in a way that harms the service or other users.

Termination does not remove obligations that should survive by nature, including payment obligations, intellectual property protections, legal disclosures, and limitation-of-liability provisions.

Disclaimers and Liability

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the maximum extent allowed by law. We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Because the service is pre-release and in active development, we do not guarantee that features, data, calculations, reports, or other outputs will be complete, accurate, current, error-free, or fit for a particular filing or business use.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VAT Engine and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or data.

Unless a separate written agreement states otherwise, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amounts you paid us during the 12 months before the claim giving rise to liability.

Important Notes

• Alpha access is intended for testing and feedback; functionality may change or be removed before general release.
• You are responsible for your source data, registrations, filings, and operational decisions.
• Keep your own books, evidence, and filing records, and do not rely on VAT Engine as your sole system of record during alpha.
• Separate provider terms may apply to payments or other third-party services.
