Integrations
Overview of VAT Engine integrations, including connection models, source mapping, token handling, and platform-specific setup guidance for external stores.
Overview
Use Dashboard -> Integrations when you want to connect a store or commerce platform to your VAT Engine customer account.
This section is written for merchants, implementation partners, and developers who are setting up a real account connection. It is not an internal VAT Engine operator runbook.
Shopify is the first integration path being prepared for the guided app or plugin install flow. Today, the same workspace already lets you create the Shopify connection manually from the VAT Engine dashboard.
What Integrations Are For
- Linking one external store to the correct VAT Engine account
- Reusing or creating a VAT Engine source profile for store-level reporting
- Storing the credentials needed for future sync and webhook handling
- Reviewing connection status and recent activity from the dashboard
Integrations complement the VAT Engine API. If your checkout or ERP only needs direct VAT calculation calls, start with Quick Start and the API reference. If you also want store-level reporting, imports, or connector-based workflows, use Integrations as well.
Typical Setup Flow
- Create or sign in to the VAT Engine customer account that should own the store connection.
- Open Dashboard -> Integrations.
- Choose the platform you want to connect.
- Link the store to an existing VAT Engine source profile, or leave it unmapped until later.
- Save the connection and confirm it shows the expected store details and status.
If you manage stores for multiple clients, double-check that you are signed in to the correct VAT Engine customer account before adding credentials or saving the integration.
Platform Coverage
Shopify
Shopify is the current platform guide in this section. The customer-facing setup page focuses on:
- the Shopify values you need to collect
- how to connect the store to the correct VAT Engine account
- what the guided app or plugin install is expected to handle next
- webhook and privacy endpoint expectations that merchants or implementation partners should know

Other Platforms
Additional platform guides will be added here as connector support expands.
